RRM Graphics specializes in print production and art reproduction. What does it mean to set a file for print production? In the old days it used to be that every part of a designed piece sent to a print house had to be broken down in parts and pieces like: fonts, copy, art (illustrations and photos), size and color, the medium it's to be printed on and paper quality. Hard copies were supplied, such as mock-ups, separations, original files on CD or floppy, with a specification sheet detailing how to process the job. All of these are still used today but with better tools. Your files are set as a PDF or Portable Document Format containing all the elements stated above, but digitally. However, as in the old days, the designer or production artist must make sure that all art and fonts are embedded in file, assuring that your PDF setting are as specified by your printer. For best results you want to make sure the file is set at the right print resolution and that all art is at least 233 dpi and not 72 dpi. Once the PDF is approved by the client, the file is ready to go to any printer anywhere around the world.
How do we reproduce your art? For starters I'll need to know what kind of art you want to reproduce. Is it an old photo? a logo? sports icon? or reproducing a pencil sketch as vector graphic? Your art is reproduced with professional design programs. A photo is scanned, color corrected and cleaned up then saved at a higher resolution. For a logo, sports icon or other illustration, the art is re-drawn in an illustration program, this art can be modified any time and reproduced at any size. Files are saved at the best quality for later use by another designer, printer or web designer.
